The sweet but lonely child did not manage to find her father when she wanted.
In the meanwhile, she had been bethroted to a man who turned out to be dead, more faithful to his king than what his turn cloak mother guessed; and then, married to a Frey, much to her chagrin and that of the few who actually loved her.
But she learned to love the man, even with the age difference and the fact that their marriage was cut short by his death. And she learned much of the ways of the world thanks to him and his family.
And those ways helped her survive the war even though that family was decimated. She fell but she rised again.
She is, after all, a lioness of the Rock.
